Same for me. Connection Lost: Timed Out after 20 seconds of gameplay. Sometimes I can play for a few mins at a time but it's the same error.
I have tried everything. Every fix on google, on forums. Downgrading version, port forwarding, firewall, dmz, exceptions, antivirus, reinstalling MC/Java. Nothing works. Is there some damn way to fix this crap? DL speed is 2MBps and UL is 1MBps so it's not bandwidth issue. I spent 26 USD on something that doesn't even work at this stage.
I've contacted Mojang about this issue nearly 24 hours ago. No response yet. If their 'technical support' doesn't fix my issue I'm asking for a refund.
Im actually dying. I just reinstall my whole OS and it worked for about 5 minutes then up again. I can't find any decent way to contact Minecraft themselves about this, so all I can do is hope someone can help on these forums.
@CoolGabrijel yeah I know but as far as I can tell that's not something I can fix, it's on MC's end. I've done literally everything in my power and I'm so frustrated ;_;
@Web2201 those were the default arguments already but I tried and nada.
Currently uploading a video to youtube that I recorded with fraps showing roughly what happens. Will post in an hour or so.
**EDIT to @CoolGabrijel's first comment
I just did a fresh install of Windows so theres no way I have a virus. Server IS ONLINE or it wouldn't let me join in the first place, also it pings fine........... Lastly ofc its a legit copy why should that even be a factor??
I Googled for 2 hours and found out that this particular sound event is played by snow golems.
Incidentally, there was a snow golem in the world.
I told my friend to kill the snow golem and he did so. Boom the error disappeared.
So "Unable to play unknown soundEvent: minecraft:none" as far as I can tell is caused by snow golems due to Mojang's and inability to correctly program a game.
HOWEVER.
This did not fix the timed out issue, so looks like we're back to square one.
I have also not heard back from Mojang at all. I'm not expecting to. They took my money already, why should they care.

Did you get any results
There could be possibilities but please check some of them in case:
-Cracked account (With this you can get 2 types of errors and one of them is this)
-Servers offline (Check in the multiplayer tab if you can actually connect to them and they dont say "No connection")
-Virus (Trust me these things are powerful more than you think)
-(I will find more issues that might be here)

Curse PremiumThis might be an issue with Minecraft 1.8.7. Try downgrading to 1.8.6 and see if that does anything different.
No response from Mojang yet.
Personally I have already tried downgrading all the way to 1.8
It's a legit copy of Minecraft.
Did virus scan with two different AV programs, no threats.
Server is online since all my friends can play.
Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
Hmm try to search for a fix for java.lang.NullPointerException
If all else fails disable firewall

Okay so it might be in your internet or something
It's not my internet because Minecraft works fine on all other computers in the house
So far we have the exact same problem my friend. Just like you my other computers work fine.
If you find out the solution please post it here. I'll do the same.
Here is the Game Output log for when it times out, in case that may help anyone. I load the game and server, time out, then quit the game.

Yep, I'm bitter.
Still not fixed.
I've been refunded for my purchase and have left it there. I'm not going to waste anymore time doing their job for them.
Good luck to anyone else with this issue.
