I recently got a new computer (Windows 7 64-bit, 16 GB RAM, GTX 980 SLI, i7-4970k; it's a pretty beasty machine); everything I've done on it so far runs great, with the exception of loading Minecraft. On my older computer it took seconds to get from the launcher to the game. On this new computer, using the 1.6.11 Launcher, it took a full four minutes from the time of clicking 'Play' for the main game screen to show (last Launcher Log "[16:01:24 INFO]: Looking for old natives & assets to clean up..." to first Game Output "[16:05:24] [Client thread/INFO]: Setting user: Rindali", so 4 minutes right on the money).
Any idea why this might be? Looking in my processes in my Windows Task Manager I see the Javaw.exe or whatever the Minecraft game is listed as there show up immediately after clicking play on the Launcher.
I've deleted the .minecraft folder, as well as fresh installs of the game entirely several times. I've always tried the old launcher as well.
Trying several more times, I've realized that it takes EXACTLY 4 minutes to load every time. (last Launcher Log line and first Game Output log line are always 4:00 apart).
