My daughter has encountered an issue with minecraft. Her characters arm is not moving. We are absolutely certain it is not the mouse. Also the character will randomly lag when it is walking or looking around. We play minecraft everyday and today was the first day there was a problem. I must warn you that I am used to PCs and my daughter has a Mac so any help will have to be put in very simple terms for me, please and thank you. Also I should mention that she tried to download forge but it didn't work. I have since removed any trace of it from her computer (I think). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry as I said I am a bit of an idiot when it comes to macs, but what exactly would a screenshot show? The character's arm is stationary at all times and a screenshot isn't a moving picture, so the arm would be stationary in the screenshot as well. Unless there is something else you can discover from the screenshot, then please tell me what you want me to take a screenshot of. Should I just open it up in Single Player and take a screenshot of the character and upload here? Or is there something specific I should take a screenshot of. Again, I apologize for sounding so ridiculous, but this is all new to me, both Minecraft and the use of a Mac. I have tried logging in again and the arm doesn't work at all. It won't work with the sword, it won't break blocks, if I go to the inventory and select a block it will hold the block. I am just at a loss.
So I messed around with the control setting options and it turned out that for some reason every setting that she had was all messed up. I don't know how it happened because she didn't change her control settings, so I don't know if it was a bug or what, but I went in and reset everything and it seems to be working just fine now. Thank you to all who took the time to read this post and give suggestions. I believe the problem is now solved.

Go to Options > Video Settings > View Bobbing : ON
That should fix the arm part.
