You should also open the launcher and allocate more ram to your modded profile. Allocating 2-3GB should be plenty for your mods. If you cannot allocate 3GB due to system limitations, you're going to have to get more RAM.

I did a bit of research a week ago on allocating more RAM and have tried doing so but nothing was very clear on what to do. When I click edit profile, enable JVM arguments, and replace the amounts of RAM given there it seems to either do nothing or not work. Is there a better way to allocate more RAM? And if not, then how exactly do I do it the way I had tried?

A. Thank you and it makes sense, as I've had memory issues a lot recently. B. Would adding 4 more gigabits of RAM to the 4 I currently have help at all? and C. How do I use spoilers?
Yes, adding 4 more Gigabytes of RAM will help your system run better.
You should also open the launcher and allocate more ram to your modded profile. Allocating 2-3GB should be plenty for your mods. If you cannot allocate 3GB due to system limitations, you're going to have to get more RAM.
I did a bit of research a week ago on allocating more RAM and have tried doing so but nothing was very clear on what to do. When I click edit profile, enable JVM arguments, and replace the amounts of RAM given there it seems to either do nothing or not work. Is there a better way to allocate more RAM? And if not, then how exactly do I do it the way I had tried?

In JVM arguments, you can add/modify "-Xmx2G" to change your allocated RAM.
Ex:
-Xmx1G = 1 GB of RAM allocated
-Xmx256M = 256 MB of RAM allocated
Edit: If you're running a 32-bit machine, you cannot add anymore than 4GB to it. You need to upgrade your specs.
