I have no idea what happened, and it's been a while since I've played so I can't really tell when this started happening. I've tried reinstalling, but that didn't help.
I also noticed this. This was part of the 1.7 update. But yours seem to be a lot worse. I don't know what is causing this. Try updating Java.
What render distance do you have it set to?

At first it was set to 4, then 12, and everything inbetween.
