I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix the "Java Error Code: 1638" when I try to install the latest Java download. I'm almost positive this is the cause for my minecraft crashes when I try to launch it. When I launch minecraft after I press "Play", nothing happens. But I look in the task manager under more details and see that Java is running in the background. I am able to install Java 7 but that doesn't help my minecraft crashing, it does the same thing.
When I try to download Java 8 Update 45 this is what happens: I download the installer, I press install, then after installing that the Ask.com toolbar thing comes up, I uncheck it then click next, then a window pops up and says: "Java update did not complete" and under that says "Error Code: 1638". So I was just wondering if anyone knew how to fix this so I can play more minecraft. I have been playing minecraft for a while but I haven't seen this problem before. It just kind of crashed like this one day and crashed every time I tried to open it since.

Also I noticed in the uninstall programs, there is a program named Java 8 Update 45 but instead of the java icon next to it there is a program icon. And when I try to uninstall it, it says "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." This is probably another reason for Java not installing correctly but I really have no idea what this means or how to fix it. Please help!
