Several times I have checked and checked again to make sure my login information was 100% correct, and then I finally look at the error message and realize it is not my login information. This picture shows the entire error message
Given the error code: InvalidAlgorithmParameterException: the trustAnchors parameter must be non-empty
Now, being resourceful, I checked the help.mojang.com page to make sure the servers weren't down, and NOTHING is down, as shown in this picture.
My internet connection is doing spectacular right now, and my login information was working just last night.

Make sure your firewall and antivirus are not blocking Minecraft. This can be done by going into your antivirus/firewall and checking the list of programs blocked/allowed. There are plenty of tutorials for every antivirus/firewall program on how to add exceptions that allow certain programs to run. What antivirus/firewall are you using?

Well everything was running perfectly yesterday, last night even. I was able to login, play online, connect to servers. So, why would any of my security and virus programs or the firewall disallow Minecraft Launcher?
Oh, and BTW, this problem is with the launcher, not any of the modded aspects of Minecraft, but I didn't put it in the unmodded section because I would get yelled at rather than helped for having a modded client that doesn't even pertain to the situation at hand.
