So the Launcher has been suggesting for some time that should get the new launcher to possibly improve game speed so I finally tried to do that today by getting the new minecraft,exe (and I also tried the .msi file). Unfortunately the launcher file fails to update and so I can no longer play the game.

Below is the launcher log;

Clearly I am not getting a connection for some reason. Not sure if it is an issue that there's no Java Version listed (I have 8, Update 45, 32-bit)

Removed McAfee (not sure how that got installed). I already have Malwarebytes installed.

Still the same problem with the launcher, unfortunately.
