So I opened a server with Shockbyte and i'm not entirely sure how modding works. These are the mods I want to add to the server:
Dirtbikes and More
Archimedes Ships
CJB Mob Filter
Custom NPC
Crayfish Furniture Mod
The Weed Mod
Tropicraft
Fossils and Archaeology Revival
We have 4 gb reserves space and I think most of these are mod compatible. I tried choosing forge config for the server jar setting, moving all the forge/mod related files into a folder called 'jars' in myFTP directory and started the server using my own world but the server won't even go online now. I'm completely lost. I think I must be doing something wrong but I can't figure out what.

I'm guessing these are 1.7 mods.
If they are 1.7 mods, you will need to find and download a copy of the Cauldron server.
You will not be able to find official builds since the Bukkit DMCA.
If you do not care about Bukkit plugins you can download the latest version of Forge.
If these are 1.8 mods, get a 1.8 version of Forge.
Run the Forge installer on your PC.
Install the server to a new folder on your desktop.
Once complete, upload those files to your server.
Now you are able to mod your server.
Simple upload the mod .jar files to the mods folder on your server.
Start your server and enjoy modded Minecraft.
I am using 1.7 mods. Sorry I forgot to clarify that! I am following the steps you gave me and i'll let you know if it works.
I followed your steps and my server is not starting. I am going to contact shockbyte and try and figure out what is going on.
