The computer I play Minecraft on has an outdated graphics card, so I can't play past 1.7.2. I'd like to be able to play the latest MC versions, but I'm having trouble finding out if it's at all possible.
I have three computers:
HP Pavilion NY806AV-ABA- s5150t desktop running Vista (this is the one with the outdated graphics card, so I won't bother listing its graphics card)
Dell Inspiron N411Z laptop running Windows 7, with an Intel Graphics Family card model 8.15.10.2372
Dell Inspiron N5110 laptop running Windows 7, with an Intel Graphics Family card model 8.15.10.2361
Will the graphics cards for the two laptops work for Minecraft 1.8+? If not, how can I find out if i can replace/add a graphics card to any of the three computers? I've tried Googling this last part, but I wasn't able to find answers.
If Minecraft says you have an outdated graphics card, it usually means that your OS/graphics drivers are out of date. Update your graphics drivers. If that doesn't help, update your OS to Windows 7 or later (MC doesn't play nice with Vista). If neither of those work, then you can probably replace the graphics card on the desktop. As for the laptops, I can't really tell if those will play MC because instead of listing the actual graphics card model, you've listed the driver version. :\ You definitely can't replace the graphics units on those, anyways.

That's a great help! I didn't realize replacing a graphics card and updating the graphics drive were different things. Thanks very much.
