Alright so I'm using FTB Launcher along with my modified Direwolf Pack adding in my own mods, it comes out to about 188 mods.
Now this doesn't happen on my laptop but it does on my desktop which is a far more powerful pc.
CPU: Intel i7 2600k 3.40 ghz
RAM: DDR3 8.0 GB
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
GPU: Nvidia GTX 660 Ti 3GB
FTB launcher is set to us 2 GB of ram but when i launch Minecraft as everything is loading the ram usage goes way up higher, nearly using all of my ram and other programs like AIM start freezing and the PC becomes over all super slow. Even after Minecraft has completely loaded up to the menu the the pc stuff in the background still run slow and freeze up.
As for the game itself if i'm using a texture pack i get hard lag, if i'm using no texture packs it runs decently. My game also likes to crash whenever i go into the nether, if i load it back up again i'll into the nether just fine but if i leave the nether it crashes and i gotta load up the game again.
