As a bit of quick background information, I've been off-and-on trying to get this to work since January. I built a new computer at the end of December, so not only is this happening on a fresh install, it's been happening since the very first install on this computer.
To my knowledge, I have all of my graphics drivers up to date, and I just tried removing my old Java install and replacing it with the newest one a few days ago.
Basically, what happens is that once the launcher comes up, I try to click in any of the text fields to enter my log-in info, and it won't even let me type. The whole launcher is unresponsive, so I can't click on any of the text or buttons either. But it seems to be 'running' alright, since closing the window has yet to give me any system errors like a crashed program normally would.
And I'm running a 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 with a GeForce GTX 970 graphics card, if that helps.
Edit: Added in a screenshot of where I get stuck in the launcher, though it doesn't really show much since there's not a lot to see.
This is a bug in windows I believe, not the launcher. I run the exact same OS and I know what you mean. I try to type in certain areas and nothing happens. Try opening notepad or wordpad and typing your log in details and attempt to paste them into each slot

When I say it won't let me type, I mean it won't even show the blinking text cursor in the text fields.
