Hi, everyone,
Sorry for the wall of text,
*Before I say anything, my CPU is an FX 8320 (not OCed) with a DeepCool Gammax S40*
I recently bought a new ASUS GTX 750Ti OC, so I could play minecraft with shaders (mostly because I have a youtube channel) but after I installed it (The card) and windows 7.1 again (I was using windows 8 for a few months and wanted to switch back) I "installed" minecraft, and got forge, optifine and shaders running, I started to test.. Also, I was playing in fullscreen on a 1920x1200 monitor that was set to 1080p. I did plug in the 6-Pin Connector.
With -Xmx8912M -Xms1024M, I was able to play on mineplex/singleplayer (Same Results) for around 10 minutes vanilla before my game would stop responding and stay in that one single state until I eventually turned my PC off, I had a browser opened on my second monitor with SpeedFan running, saying that my CPU was at 60-65 Degrees, and my GPU was at 40, not that anything would be overheating since my PC didn't just decide to turn off randomly.. BUT when I tried to USE the second monitor with my mouse, I couldn't click anything.. As if the OS stopped responding. I gotta say.. I was starting to freak out when the error "Windows Has Stopped Responding" came up, shortly before "Uknown Hard Disk Failure".
So, being only 12, not really knowing what to do (because I couldn't be bothered to reinstall windows, and I could since I hadn't activated it yet), I decided to swap out the SATA 3 Cable to a different Sata 2 cable, to check if the previous cable was faulty. It helped, to the point where I didn't get the error messages pop up, but my minecraft was still freezing after 10 minutes, and I had to turn off my computer to be able to use it again, since I wasn't able to do anything after minecraft started melting down. I tried playing maximum settings, minimum settings, changed VBOs, did anything I could, really, but with no avail.
With the Modded Client, I had similar settings (I did use Multi-core in optifine) and shaders produce same results apart from the fact that I could only play for half the time.
And now, today, I thought, why don't I get my spare 1TB HDD and install windows on that, and see how THAT goes. But before I did that I thought that it might be a good idea to actually ask the forums about what the **** was, and is happening and see if anyone can help.
I do have the newest version of all drivers, downloaded from the website, my heatsinks are almost completely free of dust, so I can't do anything besides blame everything on my 3TB WD Green.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks to anyone who put in the time to read every part of this thread, I appreciate it.
