I've got too many mods, somewhere around 60, and deep in one of them is probably a setting that affects the spawn of squids, which have been missing from my worlds.
Has anyone run across and solved this issue in their set of mods?

If you are using it, Mo' Creatures lowers the spawn chance of squids, making them very rare. You'll spend at least a half-hour swimming through an ocean to find maybe 2. Not really sure if that's the case now, since I haven't used the mod since 1.4.6. Either way, there should be spawn settings in the options menu under "DrZharks' Mo' Creatures."
