So I downloaded minecraft forge for 1.7.2(one of my favorite mods didnt update yet) and when i pressed play in the minecraft launcher, the game didnt open! is that something to do with the latest launcher version? 1.7.10 works fine!
as you have not provided sufficient info to debug im recommending you re-install all of minecraft and java.
Well, I dont think its my minecraft and also, I can download other versions of forge for other versions of minecraft and theyll work fine just not 1.7.2. Maybe you try to download forge 1.7.2?

Did you try deleting this one and getting a different versions of 1.7.2? To me it looks like it's saying this is a corrupted file. Is your computer 32 bit or 64 bit? Java needs to run on 32 bit Java if your computer is a 32 bit. If you have 64 bit computer you must have 64 bit java.

No, I have the correct version, and like i said, my friend is having the exact same problem

Did you try downloading it again. The reason for this is you could have gotten a corrupted download. It happens to me sometimes to with mods.

First off dont double post edit your first post
2nd go to your %AppData%\Roaming\.minecraftfolder delete it and delete all minecraft launchers
and redownload minecraft from
https://minecraft.net/download
go to your controll panel uninstall a progrm uninstall all versions of java
then redownload java here
https://www.java.com/en/
or here
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html
