So once Minecraft recently updated to 1.8.4 and I decided to play and oddly my memory overloads? when I dedicate like 4G to Minecraft and I tested it to 14G to see the problem and it just overloads still. Please help. I have the perfect specs to run Minecraft I run every other game on high settings like GTA V on high settings and a lot of other games I am really confused
Its fine that it does that, its caching data so it doesnt have to generate it / load it from the disk everytime, I have it set to 512MB and works better than at 1GB. Also disable clouds as they consume a lot of RAM and processing time for some reason
There were a lot of complaints on the forum that when they gave memory to MC it didn't use it, so Mojang wrote a new function called "hogger()" that allocates all but 1G of the heap and sits on it, leaving the 1G that MC really needs still around for all the other functions to use.

It still didn't work when I tried that.

This post is a joke.
Nice joke but seriously I've spent forever trying to fix this.
Please provide a screen shot of the profile configuration you are using,
I see nothing wrong with the behavior of 1.8.4 (you're running 1.8.1 in that screenshot)
