This is what I got after I forced it to close with ctrl+alt+del. I'm guessing it has something to do with the tons of mods I have installed, but I swear it worked before!
My first guess would be that you need to allocate more RAM to Minecraft. I believe you can do this under the JVM arguments in the profile editor in the Minecraft launcher.
If I recall, the command is "-Xmx1G", where the number before the G is the number of gigabytes of RAM you wish to reserve for Minecraft when it's up.
I believe Forge automatically adds the 1G, so you might wanna up it to 2 or 3. Assuming you have enough RAM to spare.

Prior to this issue, I tried updating my java in hopes that it would end the lag spike of death that I would get, but I think I might have gotten the wrong version, so I've manually downloaded and installed the 64x bit version.
If you're using the vanilla Minecraft launcher, it comes with it's own, specially-made version of Java, completely unaffected by global Java versions on your computer.
You can tell that you have the right version if there are other folders in the same folder you have the launcher .exe in. If you don't, then you might need to download the launcher again.
Anyway, how much RAM does your computer have in the first place? I personally don't like allocating more than half of my system's max, and I think Java actually has a limit, but I'm not too sure.

I'd advise against using your computer's global Java. I only recently realized I'd been using mine, and when I switched to Minecraft's version, my performance shot up a bit and it fixed a ton of bugs.
But there should be a tutorial somewhere. I know it has to do with the Java version line above JVM arguments in the profile options.
Huh. The game works again, for some reason. I mean, it still randomly crashes from mod conflicts, but it's working.
I'm curious, though: Why does the launcher show messages of mods missing so many things? Don't the mods already have everything they need to work? Is it talking about in the loaded game world?

I can't remember what I did to it last, but for some reason, the game either will:
Take over ten minutes to start
or
Will crash and give an "OutOfMemory" error

My first guess would be that you need to allocate more RAM to Minecraft. I believe you can do this under the JVM arguments in the profile editor in the Minecraft launcher.
If I recall, the command is "-Xmx1G", where the number before the G is the number of gigabytes of RAM you wish to reserve for Minecraft when it's up.
I believe Forge automatically adds the 1G, so you might wanna up it to 2 or 3. Assuming you have enough RAM to spare.

Prior to this issue, I tried updating my java in hopes that it would end the lag spike of death that I would get, but I think I might have gotten the wrong version, so I've manually downloaded and installed the 64x bit version.
If you're using the vanilla Minecraft launcher, it comes with it's own, specially-made version of Java, completely unaffected by global Java versions on your computer.
You can tell that you have the right version if there are other folders in the same folder you have the launcher .exe in. If you don't, then you might need to download the launcher again.
Anyway, how much RAM does your computer have in the first place? I personally don't like allocating more than half of my system's max, and I think Java actually has a limit, but I'm not too sure.

I'd advise against using your computer's global Java. I only recently realized I'd been using mine, and when I switched to Minecraft's version, my performance shot up a bit and it fixed a ton of bugs.
But there should be a tutorial somewhere. I know it has to do with the Java version line above JVM arguments in the profile options.
Huh. The game works again, for some reason. I mean, it still randomly crashes from mod conflicts, but it's working.
I'm curious, though: Why does the launcher show messages of mods missing so many things? Don't the mods already have everything they need to work? Is it talking about in the loaded game world?
