I was wondering if there was a simple guide on downloading mods on a mac? I'm very new to gaming and I have no clue about how to do most everything. I've updated everything and I've put the mods in the correct folder but they are not showing up in the game. Thanks!
Get the right version for the mods you have. Be sure to get the installer, as you need some library files as well. Run this BEFORE putting your mods/config files in place.
2) Run the forge version of Minecraft 1 time without mods, then replace the mod folder with your mods or C&P your mods into the mods folder.
3) Verify everything works by running it once. You should only download mods from these forums, curse, or the mod homepage. Most other places are trolling you or wanting to you bail out Prince Abudini and give them your bank account.
Thats the basics, config files are the next step, but for starting the default configuration of most mods should do you just fine.

I can tell you what I did for my first time using mods. I found a modpack and followed everything to a T to install it.
