I built this recently and I want to be able to save it as a schematic and paste it into a different world save.
So first I saved it as a schematic with World Edit. I then went to a new world and imported the schematic with //load and pasted it. This is what I got:
o.O .... I then exited everything, went into MC Edit instead, selected and exported the build as a .schematic and imported it into the new world, also with MC Edit. I got the same result as above. Then just to see, remaining in the new world, I loaded the MCEdit schematic using World Edit's //load and pasted it... To get this bizarre result:
O.O ... Those magical little white dots are flickering all over the place and the grass block glow darker and lighter.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your time.
EDIT: Okay, after some googling, I know what the problem is, if not the solution. Apparently, from MC 1.7.x, Forge generates IDs for everything every time you create a new world, solving the previous problem of conflicting IDs. So that's good. But now importing schematics from other worlds results in the above because of this. I'll check to see if anyone has been able to come up with a way around it.

A possible cause for this is different modpacks. All modpacks has something that makes it "special". Some modpacks have their ItemID overlapped which makes the system create a new ID for it, which in turn, changes the blocks. MCEdit Schematics follow by ItemID so such problem will happen.
I hope this helps. MCEdit usually works if the modpacks are both exactly the same, which is why it's usually used in vanilla instead of modded MC.

I don't change anything at all with the mods when changing worlds. I simply exit one saved game and create a new world, without closing Minecraft. Of course, with MC Edit I HAVE to close Minecraft, but then I still don't change anything to do with the mods.
I do think it has something to do with the IDs though. I just don't know how. IDs change between saved games?? [Edit: Yep! See edit in first post.] The challenge continues......
