I recently built a new PC and I was gonna copy over my game data, but I can't find my directory.
Normally it's in Appdata\Roaming\.minecraft but I have an SSD with Windows and another drive for normal storage. I set Minecraft to install to my normal drive but it just puts the application in that folder, everything else is in an unknown location. I tried going to my appdata on the SSD drive but there was no .minecraft folder there. Does anyone know where it saves my files?
I'm an idiot...
It turns out it didnt create any files because I hadn't run the game yet, sorry haha
The launcher puts its stuff in %appdata%/minecraft and by default saves go there too, unless you have your launcher profile configured with a game directory. Then the non launcher stuff is saved there instead. In the profile editor there is a button that will take you to the game directory wherever it is.
