Hi. So i've been having this problem for a while now.
So straight to the point, while i'm playing i get like around 40+ fps. Then consecutive pauses occure in which the fps count is 0, Then the pause stops and it's back to above 20-40 fps then a second or so later another pause happens and it's back to 0 fps. This happens every time i enter a world and when i try leaving the world, minecraft itself becomes unresponsive. And i close it with task manager most of the time. This issue however, does not happen in the menus. Whether it be the pause menu or the main menu, the game is fine but when i enter a world all hell breaks loose
I get a slight pause when loading a chunk (more noticable when spawning since so many chunks load), and optifine is a beautiful thing for smoothing framerates. You could also try lowering your framerate cap. The human eye can only see 30 frames a second and only detect differences in framerates up to 60 so... while 40 looks smoother you could be happy at 30

You tried allocating more RAM or lowering your settings?

I've tried lowering my settings. So far turning the MipMap option off seems to reduce the pause time.
I've also found out that every time a chunk loads, a pause occurs
Not yet. I will try now and see.
