I've been a Minecraft client since Minecraft SP came out. But, several months ago, I had to buy a new computer and throw out my old one. It's a Windows 8 Hewlett Packard computer. I attempted to get Minecraft reinstalled many times but each came out with a different error message. So, I downloaded an error checker program and it came out with the following:

Can somebody please help me with getting Minecraft back?
I've gotten it to open the game and was even able to play online and offline. However, there is no .Minecraft folder, no bin folder, nothing. Is there somewhere I could download that folder?

that error checker hasn't been maintained in a long time. I don't think that it is valid anymore.
It hasn't kept up with the changes to the way MC works.

The .minecraft folder has to exist, you are just looking in the wrong place. It's at %appdata%/.minecraft
The bin folder hasn't existed for a very long time. MC now supports switching between versions so the per version code is now stored in a new way.
