just got a new laptop today and I've got it set up with minecraft and Optifine HD Ultra C7. Problem is, I can't run my texture pack (a custom one based on Misa's) despite it running on my old laptop just fine. I've set up minecraft so that it can use up 4GB of RAM through the java arguments in the optifine profile, but it's still coming up with this error:

To clarify, it runs fine with default textures, but I really want to run my own pack. Here are some system specs below
Intel core i7 CPU
Geforce 820M graphics card (2GB video memory)
8GB RAM (same amount of RAM as my previous system)
The texture pack is 173MB
Is there a way to get the texture pack to run properly?
Just tried the Inter Realistic 3D Resource Pack V1.8.3 (512x) and it ran, so that confirms that 512x packs can run, and my pack 400x, so this is getting weird.

Now, I don't know all that much about graphical mechanics, but resolutions that aren't multiples of eight can behave strangely.

Somehow, I ended up GM-ing this thing over at Bay12;

Only thing i can suggest is that you make sure you have the latest graphics driver for your GPU. Here's the link for yours: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/83082
Core i5-3570k overclocked to 4.4 ghz
Cryorig H7 heatsink
Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850 2gb
ASRock Z77 Pro 4
Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x4gb 1600 mhz
ok, I re-zipped the pack and it worked.... don't know why but, now it's resolved
