Okay, so I recently made the upgrade from 1.7.10 to 1.8 because a decent amount of mods I had in 1.7 had finally been upgraded to 1.8, and everything was fine. Until now. I can no longer place blocks and have them stay on the ground, cannot open ANY interface except my enchanting table (this means no furnaces, crafting table, chests, nothing) and whenever I log out, I end up right back in my enchanting room next to the enchant table. I logged out in the nether just now to test it and sure enough, upon lading the world, I was right back at my enchanting table. What the heck? I would just copy over my seed and MCEdit everything back in BUT I can't see what I have in my chests, so I don't know what to give myself :/ If anyone could provide some insight as to what's happened here, how to fix it, or how I could at least prevent it from happening again I'd appreciate it

I copied everything from the region folder on the old save, recreated the seed and pasted everything from the old world's region folder into the new world's region folder and it seems to be working, issue no longer exists, still have all of my stuff. Anyone know why that happened with the old world?
