the only way I can describe it is that the window stops responding for a split second, and then goes back to normal. it does it constantly. I've noticed it does it more while on the title screen. I suspect its something to do with a virus since its done it ever since I downloaded a couple files to my computer. I ran avast antivirus and malwarebites but they didn't stop the problem.
try this program called combofix. it will clear up ANYTHING on your computer get rid of it and clean your system right up. its brute force though so make sure when you do it you dont turn off your system.. make sure all programs and background processes are off you dont have to be in safe mode to do this but it wouldnt hurt dont turn off your computer dont open new programs just start combofix and let it do its thing. if it looks like its frozen its not just wait,. the whole process should take about 15 mins and it will give you a log of what it did. another thing would be Ccleaner use it to clear up your cmputers unused files and then to clean your registry thats a great tool. theres a nother i use called Rkill and tddskiller always nice just incase of sneaky virus' and junkware removal tool which you should see on the same page as combofix. if you virus is removed and you still see the blinking though try going into your minecraft install files and delete your version of minecraft youre using and reinstall it. not the whole minecraft just that version. and reinstall java or update java that should help

i downloaded adwcleaner its currently scaning but i noticed that it does it with this program too.
I made a windows profile and deleted the old one, lost many files : / but it got rid of the virus. thanks for trying to help though.
