I will start off that it has been two years sense I have had a computer.
Went to a yard sale, picked up a windows XP laptop for 20$, everything is great except the wireless chip is burnt out. So I thought I would use a flash drive, install mincraft and make it portable to the flash drive so I can play. I installed it on a friends computer. It refuses to work, instead trying to "download" it. Has the process changed, or can it no longer be done?
did you install the whole game on your usb or do you only have the launcher on it? there should be no problem if you copy the .minecraft folder from your friend on your laptop.
Got a new minecraft made, the first problem was the files. Second is... I don't know. I think I have Java 7(next to latest) installed. Rebooted, still has that annoying error. Do I need Java 8?

Curse PremiumWhat Error is it? Still the one "downloading"?
No, new error. It runs, the bat comes up with an error, it ignores if I move the folder to appdata and attempt to launch it normally.
FATAL ERROR : net.minecraft.bootsrap.FatalBootstrapError: Unable to un-lzma: LZMA : Data Error
At net.minecraft.bootstrap.Bootstrap.unpack (Boostrap.java:146)
At net.minecraft.bootstrap.Bootstrap.execute (Bootsrtap.java:123)
At net.minecraft.bootstrap.Bootstrap.main (Boostrap.java:381)
I will try installing newest java to fix this
Bump
