I just picked up a new PC for my son it is an Asus ROG G20 with i5 processor purchased today. We have done really nothing with this new PC except trying to load Minecraft. We keep getting the same Java errors that I see are quite common. It happens when we try to play the game and when we do get the game working it will crash after some time.
I have installed the latest Java version 8 update 40.
We have the latest video driver.
All other system drivers are up to date as far as I know.
Any help would be really appreciated.

I have done some more research on this problem. I found that despite having a 64-bit OS I had 32-bit Java. I downloaded and installed the 64-bit Java. Then I went into the setup in the mine craft launcher and enabled the bottom Java exception code. I increased the two types of Ram listed in there to 2048M. So far so good the game runs well and no crashes yet. I hope I have it fixed now. Does anyone have any insight or suggestions?
Normally, this kind of crash, I'd recommend doing memory diagnostics to make sure there isn't bad memory causing memory corruption leading to the crash.
As far as you having increased memory, you shouldn't change the Xmn parameter. This is a special pool of memory and you don't want it to be anywhere close to the full (max) heap size (Xmx)

I have done some more research on this problem. I found that despite having a 64-bit OS I had 32-bit Java. I downloaded and installed the 64-bit Java. Then I went into the setup in the mine craft launcher and enabled the bottom Java exception code. I increased the two types of Ram listed in there to 2048M. So far so good the game runs well and no crashes yet. I hope I have it fixed now. Does anyone have any insight or suggestions?

Is 64bit.This kind of crash is unusual. It's happening in the JVM code
Normally, this kind of crash, I'd recommend doing memory diagnostics to make sure there isn't bad memory causing memory corruption leading to the crash.
As far as you having increased memory, you shouldn't change the Xmn parameter. This is a special pool of memory and you don't want it to be anywhere close to the full (max) heap size (Xmx)
