I am using Minecraft Launcher 1.6.11
My OS: Windows 7 x64
Anti-Virus software: ESET NOD32 6
The problem I encountered:
When I try to login in the launcher the following message pops up: Sorry, but we couldn't connect to our servers.
Please make sure that you are online and that Minecraft is not blocked.
(UnknownHostException: authserver.mojang.com)
UPD: I solved this problem, seeing #12 reply the other problem I encountered, I cannot ping any websites, so I type command "netsh winsock reset" and I found I can login after rebooting my computer
Thanks you @getbil and @Legoman99573
I didnt do that, and it still worked. They should try putting in their login information in again. Reply back if this helps.

.... Okay, I realize you live in a difficult place, but if you are going to access the whole internet via a custom host file then you ought to learn how to manage it. and you might figure out that you ought to mention it when trying to get technical support for network issues.
In any case, your last line (for mojang) is wrong. It's authserver not authservers.
Whether the IP is correct or not I don't know. The IP I get is 54.221.242.183 but it could be due to geography.

Thank you for elaborative check
Actually, I google the solution after I encountered the problem, and I found one which suggest adding this in host file, I do so and nothing work, and I forgot to delete it from host file
So I deleted it from host file but nothing work
Can you access to "http://authserver.mojang.com/" ? I can not access it
Why is the computer in drive I:\. I would make sure it is placed in Drive C:\ by default unless you are running more than 1 OS (Operating System) installed. Show me the driver information and a snapshot of your My Computer area. This will make us helping you more easier. the best could be allowing port 443 in the firewall
