Hi guys,
new to Minecraft.
Just purchased and downloaded Minecraft for Windows yesterday.
Launched the launcher. Clicked Play.
Launcher starts downloading but ends after downloads complete and when attempting to launch the game with the error below:

Could anyone help me with this.
I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit with Java 8 Update 40.

I have the exact same problem I've been searching the web for ages and I downloaded it about an hour and a half ago but it still wont work
