Hey guys I sort a need help with my bin folder in .minecraft my bin folder has a folder called backups and in backups has another folder called temp. Then in temp there's nothing. Why do I have nothing in my bin folder? How can get all the other things in it like the minecraft .jar?
the bin folder was retired in 1.5 (ish) and now minecraft used the versions folder, the bin folder you have was prob just a remnant of the older days
Well webrosc I am trying to create a texture pack and some mods need to be installed with the bin folder. I've known about minecraft for a long time.
My first version was minecraft 1.5.2 but I started the old pocket edition before that. My bin folder was fine back then.
mods that require the bin folder are out dated in their instructions and need updating to the new format of using the versions folder for the minecraft.jar

With 1.6 and its new launcher with the time machine function the bin folder was replaced with the versions folder as webrosc said. Any mods that their installation instructions being related to the bin are outdated by 2 years. Also texture packs are called resource packs and why do you need mods to make one?

What two years do you mean 2012 or 2013? If you say 2012 that means its not true because theres a mod that uses 1.6.4 that uses the bin folder. But minecraft 1.6.4 was made 2013. Be honest about the year!

The mod I want to install those not have instructions
If you still believe that the bin folder is still used for the latest versions, then you must be using the old launcher.
This is the old one:
If that ^ is what your launcher looks like then you need to update to this one(this is a download link direct from minecraft.net):
If your launcher looks like the first image, then download the new launcher and you will see why we keep saying that the bin folder is not used for the game anymore.
The old launcher doesn't work anymore. The authentication servers that it uses went away because of one of the SSL bugs.
An installation might still have a bin folder that got left lying around, but it is not USED anymore. It isn't UPDATED anymore.
It can be deleted and your minecraft will still run. It's just leftover cruft like your appendix.

This is for unmodded support. There are better places to post if you need help figuring out how to apply mods.
The bin folder is still part of minecraft.
Tell me how your bin folder is.
