Im playing on a server called MC Legends ( play.mc-legends.com ). Its really fun, I went on the sky block part of it and created a mob spawner. I am too lazy too build one which is really high and filled with water that pushes mobs into a tunnel that makes them die from fall damage (classic style). P.S. Its not like an actual mine craft world below its just like light blue sky everywhere. The mob spawner that I made is an 11x11 square which is 11 blocks high from my ground level and I built it 24 blocks away from my home and my mine craft world is on normal but for some reason mobs aren't spawning in my spawner instead everywhere else on my sky block! Can anyone tell me why? Its also pitch back inside.
A good trick is to light up every other place that you can to make sure they have no other place to spawn. Also if you have NEI press f7 and it will bring up a grid work of X red means mobs can spawn at any time yellow means they can spawn there at night. Remember that mobs will not spawn within 30 blocks of a player.
