I go to minecraft.net to download the launcher, i get the minecraft.exe file and open it. It says downloading runtime. In less than 10 seconds, a message saying "Unable to start the minecraft runtime environment. This is most likely caused by a corruption. Please try to re-install minecraft. I have re-installed minecraft many times, and i get the same message. I have been looking up videos, none of them work. Please help and/or tell me why this is happening. Thank you

Try typing in "java" in the start menu. Also try updating java here. The new launcher doesn't use Java so try it.
