So I've played Minecraft for years on Windows and Linux and never seen this problem before. Currently on OSX Yosemite and Minecraft itself runs flawlessly... unless I open the chat window, inventory or in-game menu. In any of these instances, when exiting the referenced windows, the Minecraft window loses mouse focus (the first attempt to move or click switches to whatever window was behind Minecraft) and I have to switch windows, open the in-game menu, and physically click 'Back to Game' to actually regain mouse-control in-game. It's rather annoying, but I can't believe I'm the only one who's run into this problem. Thoughts?
