Hello,

I am having trouble with my Minecraft forge. I am using the latest version of minecraft forge, and have many mods installed. My friend uses the same version of Forge, and same mods, and his loads fine, but mine will not. I am almost certain we use the same version of Java as well. We both run MC off of our Mac laptops, and are puzzled.

Please HELP!! Its been a few days and I can't seem to understand what is the problem!!!

We are running Java 7, but I don't see any way that would be a problem unless a different mod required Java 8...?

If I install Java 7, how do I make sure I use it? Because I installed it but I guess it was still using Java 6...?

Is it even possible to uninstall Java 6?

I determined my problem, I believe that when I click on Launcher Log it says that minecraft is running off of Java version 1.6... I installed Java 8, and when I look thru my files, It says I have Java 8 installed. I don't know how to make minecraft run off of Java 8!!! I changed the executable field on profile settings to the 1.8 jar file, but when I click play it only loads to a white screen and nothing happens. Please help!

On old Mac OSX. Probably not, and even then the default system settings won't change to use the new Java. Apple is weird that way. You need to manually reconfigure the launcher to use newer Java.
