Why are you opening a jar file in the first place? Jars are not configs and you're looking at the wrong file. Configs are written in plain text files. And while you can open it in textedit, I recommend get TextWrangler for looking at these.
I didn't say you couldn't open them. But unless you're a developer, you shouldn't have to. And textedit is the mac's editing program that comes with it and it blows. And I do use a mac so I know what i"m talking about.

I know you do, I saying you didn't. I know he doesn't need to open them, but I was saying that I'm pretty sure it's possible on a mac. I know all about jars, and configs. I've been modding Minecraft since 1.7.3. I was just throwing in what I thought.
Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated
