i Just had a brand new computer built and i re-downloaded minecraft on it, when i open the game everything is fine and i can even play the realms with no problem. but any time i play single player it either loads indefinitely or it crashes almost immediately. i have tried opening the games on different versions (latest version and 1.7.10) and it happens on both. i have also tried premade maps by vechs that worked on my old laptop but wont on the new desktop. ive made brand new maps through the normal mincraft world generator and still it crashes. sometimes it will finish loading just to give me a view of the sky and the blackness below the area that bedrock should be but isnt. and nio matter how long i wait it will not load any kind of terrain. ive went through my settings to make it less difficult to load but it does nothing. ive also attempted to make a normal survival mode and a hardcore mode and an amplified to see if it was the kind of map i was making and they all still do the same thing. please help.
if needed i can submit a crash report on here and a system path from another time as soon as i find out how to post it to this thread. (if you know how to add the attatchments please tell me lol)
A crash report would help a lot here.
Those are stored under /.minecraft/crash-reports (get to your .minecraft by searching %appdata% and going into the "Roaming" folder)
Either upload the file to a file host, or copy it to pastebin, and give a link to either in a reply here.

thank you for telling me about pastebin. lol i already knew where to find it but i saved them while still in the launcher so i didnt have to search anyways lol, anywho i edited the original post to include them
Hmm.... Ok, well, it looks like your Minecraft ran out of ram (going by the "system overloaded" message). Could you post your PC's specs (a link to the PC, or a link to the parts if it was a custom build)? Or, if not, at least if you have a 32 or 64 bit system, and how much ram you have? Thanks

Its a custom build, but it has 16 GB of RAM and as for the bits, its a 64 bit system and is using the Windows 7 OS. Other than that i dont really know, im not super techy and someone else built it for me sooo... sorry but hopefully the info i did have is enough
EDIT: also on my old laptop i had less RAM and i think it was only 32 bit and the game ran just fine, so i am confused why this (a much better system) is having this much trouble
Hah, that's fine. (That's what us nerds are here for :3)
So, loads of ram, 64 bit system, that rules out the hardware.
Sooo, next step is the software. Could you check what version of Java you are using? If it was 32 bit java, then you'd only be able to allow about ~2.5 gb of ram for minecraft, which, depending on the circumstances, could be not enough.
Allllso, something that just came to mind, is the hard drive. Since you say you only have issues with singleplayer, it could be your hard drive. Could you (if possible) find out the speed of your hard drive (or if it is an SSD)?
Thanks

the speed of the hard drive is 5400 rpm and i think i have the 32 bit java and the latest version available, is there a 64 bit java that i could download? or actually by SSD do you mean solid state drive? cause if so then its that. i actually have 2 hard drives one is standard and the other is solid state.
If you are getting a crash in 1.8 as well, the crash is almost certainly a different one.
As i said before it crashed in both versions. i tried 1.8 first but decided to see if 1.7.10 would work instead afterwords. although i did not realize the render distance was more limited in earlier versions so thank you for that information. if you would like i can go back to the latest version and get the crash report for that version so that you could see for that and possibly help. thanks
(i do not know which of these i posted in the main post... but thats all of them anyways)
also i forgot to mention in the original post that when it actually loaded and put me in the blank world with no blocks/terrain any time i hit escape it would not let me exit the game through the menu. i had to hit the little "x" in the corner then tell it to close the program now instead of wait. maybe that helps? idk but hopefully it does.
There are two weird 1.8.1 crashes in there.
One claims out of memory (Waking Up map) and the other claims an invalid argument (Sunburn Islands).
Both these seem unusual to me.... Your heap seems big enough in general (you could try bumping to -Xmx2G) and the invalid argument implies either a code bug or corrupted data...

i dont understand what you mean by bumping but if it is corrupted data then is it possible to uninstall the game and reinstall it to create all new files and saves for it? because these crashes and malfunctions happen on premade maps by Vechs and my own "naturally made" maps, but only on singleplayer mode.
Sorry. In your launcher, edit the profile. Click the checkbox near JVM Arguments so that you can edit the box contents. Change -Xmx1G to -Xmx2G
this will double the size of your heap, which shouldn't really be necessary, but one of your crashes claims to be an out of memory exception due to heap.
Is there anything weird about this computer you had built?

nothing weird unless a second hard drive (solid state) counts, otherwise it is just built with quality parts. and ill try the argument real quick.
well, i changed the heap size to 2 and it loaded immediately but i still have no world below or above me or to any direction and it still makes it so that i cant exit the game
aha, the guy who built my computer just had a brilliant idea, i had to bring down my max framerate because apparently the default max of 120framerate is actually to much for the game to handle but most people dont have a computer that can actually give it that much speed, most people cant get above 60framerate (which is the max i have set now) but at the higher framerate the game is actually running to fast for the software to keep up, im going to post it in the bugs thread tomorrow night so Notch will know that their game isnt actually capable to run at such high framerates. my assumtion is that im actually getting super high framerates due to the fact that an SSD is 500 times faster than sstandard harddrives causing the performance of my system being more than the game can take. but point is it is fixed and i plan to post this as a bug so someone knows that the framerate capable of the program needs to be adjusted. thank you all who tried to help, i appreciate it a lot. thank you all.
That most recent crash is the one I already told you the solution to. You cannot run 1.7.10 with such a large (1.8) render distance.
i wasnt even in the 1.7.10 version when that crash happened though :/ i switched back to the current version... oh well as long as the problem is fixed, it was the framerate of my computer was exceeding what minecraft was actually capable of.
