Before you say anything, no I do NOT have a duplicate mod. I've been playing Mc just fine on 1.6.4 as I always do, enjoying my orespawn, gaia, etc etc.



I was looking for some mods I could use in creative mode to make building easier and I found too much tnt. Never heard of it before. Downloded 1.6.4 version. Extracted it like it said I should and placed the v2.7 folder into the mods folder, EXACTLY like the instructions said to.

Dupe mod error when I try to load the game.



Makes absolutely ZERO SENSE to me. I've never downloaded this mod until now.

Right there but I'm telling you, there is no duplicate.

What you have is the main mod (jar or zip) in /mods/1.6.4 folder and then the unpacked mod sitting as a folder. This happens usually when a browser is configured to automatically unpack packed files, or maybe you clicked on it manually and it unpacked. In either case, get rid of the folder.

There's nothing there, though and no I don't. The unpacked mod is on my Desktop, not the mods folder.

I'm not sure why your mods are in /mods/1.6.4 folder at all. Mods should be in /minecraft/mods folder unless you have profiles manually set up for different file path. If you're not doing this, then delete your mod /mods/1.6.4 folder entirely (it'll be auto-recreated) and just put your one TNT mod file you downloaded into the mods folder.

That's it. There's nothing else. No I have mods for other versions and no the tnt mod is not one of them. The ONLY other mod I have that's not 1.6.4 is for 1.7.2 having to do with that no cubes mod that smoothed minecraft terrain.

Yes I have a 1.6.4 folder inside my mods folder and no I won't delete it. I'm not scrapping this install and I'm certainly not going to reinstall minecraft because that would force me to update to the new Minecraft Installer most likely made by microsoft and they can kiss my ass.

Um...your 1.6.4 folder inside the mods folder are just auto unpacked libs. It is re-created upon every startup. So deleting it while your game is off does absolutely nothing (other than fix your particular issue).
The log shows your duplicate files are in it so if you won't scrap it then what do you expect us to do?

Reinstalling minecraft is the second choice as there are cases when duplicate errors arise but people do not see the files at the file paths indicated in error reports, in which case the only solution is to scrap and reinstall.

The new launcher is still made by mojang. It has some bugs still, as it's in beta testing still but it's otherwise fine.

Finally if you don't want to follow advice given here, certainly you're not required to at all. But why do you then bother asking?

That would then be your mistake in misreading my post in the first place. I never once asked for help in fixing it, nor did I ask for help in any of my replies. It's nothing more than a way of recording my issue to my profile. I suppose I should apologize for the misunderstanding.

Um. You posted in the mod support forum with a description of an issue. If you do not want us to assume you want help, which quite frankly is the natural assumption considering the forum, add a line saying "I don't need help" or tag your topic as "resolved" so we know to skip it.
