Hey! Recently I've been playing Minecraft 1.8.1 on a Mac and recently installed a SSD in it. I know that it doesn't upgrade the game's FPS. I Installed it for other reasons. I had 50 - 100 FPS before installing it. After installing it, I got 25 - 200 FPS...
The game doesn't transition between 25 and 200 FPS. It just keeps alternating. 200 FPS when I start the game. After a a minute, It slips to 20. After 5 seconds, It goes back to 200. half a minute later, 20 FPS. (It's basically random but it starts the game with 200.
This has been happening with every single Minecraft world I load.
I don't really know how to get any information about what is causing the issue, so I installed OptiFine to show the lag-o-meter and the Debug profiler (The pie chart) Here are the images:
1. Cap your FPS to 60. Anything more is wasted, and this will limit the jumps, helping smooth out performance.
2. Upgrade your java to v8u31, the latest. You are still using v6
3. I believe I read something about turning VBO off as a way to help lag spikes. I don't remember exactly.

Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.
Oh Wow! Why didn't I think about upgrading Java? It worked! echonite, You are my savior! Thank you so much! I was already thinking about reinstalling the SSD but the problem wasn't Hardware, it was software. Thank you soo much!
Oh, sorry to tell you this, but after I installed V8u31, I started Minecraft and I saw that the error was gone. So I replied to you very quickly because I got excited. After 10 minutes of gameplay, It started to happen again. And It keeps alternating now. Also, I played Hearthstone and saw that I was getting the same problem. The game is very laggy for some seconds but after a while it get better. It keeps alternating just like Minecraft.
Since my problem isn't Minecraft related, but actually "Mac related" I am going to ask for help on another website. Thanks for your help anyways

This is the SSD I installed: http://www.kingston.com/br/hyperx/ssd#sh103s3 Yes. I am playing Minecraft on it. (It's the 240GB version. Not sure if it matters though)
