I use 1.7.10 modded, up to date forge and lite loader. Many many mods.
PROBLEM
The problem is simple enough to describe, when I share my minecraft with 2 others whom are connect directly to the same router as me and have exact duplicates of the minecraft files I have [I use MultiMC to manage my mods so they have an exact copy of the Program and all files associated, I regularly copy the program and share with the same comps no problems with older versions of MC] they cannot see me on the multiplayer options. But here is where it gets weird, the 2 other computers can share and play together with zero issues.
ATTEMPTED SOLUTIONS
--I have had them attempted a direct connect using the appropriate Local IP [192.168.#.###] and have been returned the error "failed to login the authentication are currently down for maintenance... etc" When Examining Logger, I noticed that it attempted to connect but then instantly disconnected [Will Include below]

--Just a Short insert from point shared to connection attempt--
--I have rolled back my Java to match theirs, and then updated theirs. Still no go.
--My computer is the only one with an internet connection, and i have disabled the internet with no difference when Opening to LAN. I understand that giving the other computers Internet may solve the issue from forum posts i have read, but do not have the ability to do so because i us a USB tethered phone. And besides they can play together no issue.
--I have re installed minecraft and forge with no success.
--I had Custom LAN installed and thought it may have had something to do with it so i disabled it with no success.
Any help at all would be appreciated, If there is any information I am missing plz let me know. I do not post on here regularly so i'm not entirely sure what to share.
I have no issues single player runs smooth. And its a custom modpack so i havnt had the need to log into a remote server. I have other Minecraft version that I have custom modded using MultiMC that work fine LAN, Server, and single as well. Seems to be only an issue with 1.7.10.
Hm. That is odd. I was gonna say if you have trouble with servers but not single player, then it might be an antivirus software or firewall on your computer, but if you have no trouble connecting with a different profile then that goes out the window.
I see no reason why it would be version specific really. It could be some mod that's kicking you out but if you copied both mod and config folders from your buddy that's running the LAN world, that shouldn't be an issue either.
Yeah thats what i was thinking, they a duplicates. And the other 2 computers run it fine just not mine. I thought i may be something to do with Java because i run v8 and the other 2 comps run v7 but i downloaded 7 and changed to config to use it in MultiMC but it didnt help. Gonna copy from the others comps and try theirs on mine maybe something happen and mine was changed somehow.
Good idea. It'll give you a clue if it's your game setup or your computer/connection setup.
Also, try logging in on their computer, and their setup, but with your login credentials or vice versa (one of them logging in on your computer) to see if it's your login that it's having trouble with.
I've updated both computers completely, matching java7 and everything. The other 2 computers can see my world when I share it now but still cannot connect do to it saying the authentication servers are down, which they arent the other 2 computers just arent online. So i guess its either a java issue or a minecraft one. But wierdest thing is that the other 2 computers still have no issue connecting. The only thing i have they do not is I run windows 8 they are both 7. I will run in compatibility mode and see if that helps.
Well after a week of trial and error I have solved my prob, and be it with no help from the community save mr/ms Zohar. And for the sake of prosperity i will share. Turns out the problem was that you apparently MUST be in the same home group to "Open to LAN" in 1.7.10. This explained why the other 2 comps, not including mine, could connect they were in the same homegroup. I added them to mine and walla now its a gravy. I hope this helps others with this issue as I have seen many in other forums with the problem.
