So I'm playing with 21 mods on my minecraft, two of them are Biomes O' Plenty and The Mists Of Riov.
My problem is that all overworld blocks from The Mists Of Riov are not spawning. At all. In any biome I've so far been to and I have gotten to some vanilla biomes. When I quickly made a non BOP world they spawned fine which leads me to believe that BOP is for some reason blocking MOR blocks from spawning. (And yet there's a whole load of blocks from another mod, Arcane Ascension, which are generating fine?)
I have not yet ventured to dimensions besides the overworld, so cannot report on them. I'm suspicious that things from ROV won't spawn in the nether either... But the mod-specific dimensions should be fine I assume.
All other mods are working fine besides one tree from AA crashing the game apon attempting to grow. xD
The obvious fix here would be to remove BOP I know, but I don't want to do that. So does anyone know of an alternative way to fix my issue?
Typically if you want MoV to register bop biomes as biomes it uses to spawn blocks, you have to add bop biomes to the config files for MoV somewhere. Ask in MoV thread about this or better yet search that thread. Someone will have come across this issue before.
Likewise, if there are MoV specific biomes and you're using BoP algorithm to create the world, you'll have to add MoV biomes to the BoP config file. I don't know how MoV work so I can't tell you exactly what to do, but look through MoV thread and ask there.
As said, I've been in vanilla biomes and the stuff isn't spawning there either. :/ But I'll try messing with the config and also looking through that thread, lol. I would have asked in the MOR thread, but I'm on 1.7.2 and the mod author is flatly refusing to communicate with anyone using 1.7.2 sooo... No point asking for help there lol.
Ooh okay, didn't know that lol. Yeah, I did use the BOP algorithm to make the world, so that explains that.
I did remember last night, just as the limiter my parents put on my internet kicked in, that the biomes specific to MOR are spawning and at least on the surface MOR blocks are spawning in those biomes. So I'm going to go and try mining in one of them and see if I find anything there. I'll report my findings once I've done some mining. xD If it's the case that the MOR stuff spawns in the MOR biomes, it probably just makes it an extra fun challenge more than anything else.
What I'm finding weird is that it's only MOR blocks that aren't spawning - Arcane Ascension is generating fine and not being at all blocked by BOP. xD The order forge is loading them in, perhaps? I did look in the config files last night, but I couldn't find anything that would link to my issue. :/
I don't have Cofhcore, cause I managed to download it for the wrong version lol. Anyway. I know it's BOP causing the issue because I made another world using vanilla generation instead and the MOR blocks appeared fine.
I'm on older versions of some mods due to being on 1.7.2 with them, so if I can get 1.7.10 versions of all the mods I'll swap to that before taking on the author of MOR lol. They'll be more willing to help me if I'm using 1.7.10 anyway - they refuse to give support for 1.7.2 or anyone using that.
I would prefer to wait until everything is out for 1.8 and upgrade then, mind you. But with an issue like this I can't wait for everything to become available for 1.8. :/
Why not ask in BoP thread then? They might not know or they might say BoP is not designed to interfere into ore generation of other mods, but they also might have seen this issue before.
Hmm, That's a good idea. downloading all my mods over again for 1.7.10 would be quite a pain as my internet is slow, and been even slower than normal recently. (I'm not going to bother even trying a server at the moment, I'll just disconnect because of slow internet lag every 30 seconds lol) So any option besides that is worth trying, perhaps short of me trying to mess with the coding myself lol. My computer knowledge stops short at actual programming code. X.x
I'll also try downloading COFHcore, because browsing the MOR thread I did notice someone was able to use that mod to fix a different issue, so it's perhaps worth me trying that.
I know it's possible to control ore spawn from other mods with cofh. Someone told me that recently. So theoretically you should be able to set it with that. However, I don't know if there's maybe something specific that needs to be done in maybe MoR or BoP config to permit spawning of these ores in bop biomes so if that's the case, I don't know if cofh will help. Worth a try though.
I couldn't se anything in the config files for either MOR or BOP for this. Hence I'm hoping I might be able to use COFHcore to override whatever BOP is doing and fix my issue. I would then have to explore new areas of my world, but I'm doing that a lot anyway due to wanting to get as many different kinds of stuff as I can lol. Especially all the different kinds of tree from BOP. <3 (Treeeeees :D)
*sighs* I can't find a version of COFHcore for 1.7.2, only 1.6 and 1.7.10. :/ So that sucks. Guess I need to update everything to 1.7.10 to implement any possible fix we've so far thought of then. But I'll go ask on the BOP thread, in case there's something else I can do.
Hmm, I wonder how difficult it is to change the version a mod is for... If I got the minecraft coder pack for 1.7.2 and the dev cersion of COFHcore would I simply need to compile it with the 1.7.2 version of MCP or would I need to change things in the mod? *sort of thinking to myself*
Nah, things changed considerably between 1.7.2 and 1.7.10 and even more so between 1.6.4 and 1.7.2. It's not just the matter of renaming the versions. Some rare smaller mods could run on all 1.7.x versions, cause they weren't affected by the changes, but not cofh.
Hmm, okay. :/ Well, if no help comes up from the BOP thread I guess I'll either have to battle with my internet for the 1.7.10 versions, or I can wait for 1.8 and in the meantime just cheat my way through what I need to do on the overworld to get to MOR's dimensions. (Although, actually I think the blocks for the first portal come from the nether... So we'll see if the nether works.) *doesn't like mining obsidian with an unenchanted pickaxe*

Didn't know cofh was one of them.
