Hit edit launcher when you're on the launcher and select Keep launcher open. Save profile.
Enter game, and then once you're inside you can quit. Go back to launcher, under game output, and read through it. Near the end when it says stopping, and unloading dimensions, it'll unload them one by one. Next to each will be a number in brackets like (-10) or (-1). Take note what it says next to overworld and then go to your saves folder inside the mc folder, and the number on the DIM folders to overworld. It'll usually be DIM1 but just to be safe, double check. If you're going to do this a)backup your entire save first make sure you're not in the overworld when you trash it c) mc of course has to be shut down when you're deleting it
