So I installed Minecraft launcher 1.6.11 but when I choose my 1.7.2 forge profile then click 'play', it starts loading then just disappears and nothing comes up at all. It does load 1.8.1 no probs. I still have the old launcher (which loads perfectly), would that be causing me issues? Bit stuck for ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated. This is all that comes up in Launcher log:

Try downgrading to Java 1.7. Some earlier versions of Forge apparently don't work with java 1.8
