Recently, I started up my Minecraft, and it was like "You can download the new launcher which does not require Java" and I was like cool maybe this will make my game run faster. Wrong. After installing the new launcher, my framerate has dropped from ~100 fps to around 10. I tried uninstalling the launcher and using the old one, which did nothing. I messed around with settings a bit, and still could not fix it, but did manage to improve it slightly. I might wind up doing a system restore to before I downloaded the new launcher, but if there is anything else I can try first, that would be great. I have never experienced something like this before, I have almost always had pretty good FPS on my computer, so I dont believe there is anything wrong with my hardware.
The strange thing about this though, is looking down directly (or almost directly) at the ground or sky will give me 70-80 fps. Looking straight ahead to actually be able to play drops me down to around 10-20. :/
The new launcher still uses java, it just comes with a java packed with it, so that in theory everyone who uses it has the correct java instead of the wrong older one their system has installed (like how apple still think java 6 is the right one)
As for the FPS dropping some people have found 1.8 is worse than 1.7,
what GPU do you have in your computer?
if you have a laptop does it have dual GPU's and is minecraft using the better one or not? (GPU in use is shown on F3 screen in minecraft)

Wow, thanks for finally offering some help
The thing is, my frames were fine in 1.8 (they actually improved a little with optifine) until whatever happened.
I do not believe I have dual GPUs, I have a laptop
