With the old Minecraft.exe, I was able to play in 640x480 resolution by using compatibility mode:
When I try to do this on the new launcher, I start it up, it crops to 640x480 for about half a second, then immediately goes back to my computer's native 1600x900 resolution and the launcher window opens in it's standard 854x480 resolution.
I tried changing the resolution in the launcher settings, but this doesn't seem to do anything. At all. It doesn't matter if I set it to a large 16;9 resolution of 1280x720 or a small 4;3 resolution of 800x600, Minecraft continues to play windowed at 854x480. Is it because I'm playing an older version? (Beta 1.5_01)
Finally, I tried to force 640x480 resolution through the display settings in my control panel, but it won't let go any lower than 800x600:
Does anyone know how to force 640x480 with the new launcher?
