About a week ago, I was prompted to download the new launcher that does not require Java. After installing and running it, everything was working fine. However, whether I was playing on a server, single player, etc., my frame rate was very low. Before using the new launcher, I could manage FPS in the hundreds in 1.8 with Optifine. With the new launcher with 1.8 and Optifine, I can barely manage 10.
Is there any way to fix this, or revert back to the old one?
Yes, you can go to minecraft.net/download and under all platforms is a link for an alternate launcher. This is the old launcher.
Not sure why you were prompted to change launchers. I haven't been...
I have reverted back to the old launcher. My frames are still horrible. I have only had this one I installed the new launcher, should I uninstall the new one?
Update: Uninstalled the new launcher and am getting slightly better FPS on the old launcher. Still in the 20s-30s though, versus when I was in the near 100s. :/

Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.
Alpha 1.0.4
The new launcher may have been intended to solve certain problems but it seems to have introduced a whole new set of problems.
