a few days ago i installed the "MrMeep_x3s Shaders v05 Preview" (i also tried ArikLP No Lag post graphic card swap) shader pack and my frame rate was not really all that good with 40 fps, which causes my computer to skip some frames and give turning a strange feeling.
Yesterday i upgraded from a gtx 660 to a sapphire amd radeon r9 290 tri x oc and the frames worsened to 30 fps, while i had vsync disabled at any time.
My other system specs:
RAM: 2x8 gb corsair vengeance
SSD: Samsung MZ-7TE500BW Serie 840(500gb)
graphics: sapphire amd radeon r9 290 tri x oc
processor: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core
mainboard: M5A97 EVO R2.0
i know about the performance issues of minecraft's java based code, but i think i should be getting better framerates nonetheless.
Without shaders i also "only" get about 70 fps, while a friend of mine got a worse computer and gets about 120.
I also searched for solutions but none of them helped.
Thanks for reading this post and thank you even more if you got an idea to solve the issue.
Lol...you know I"d maybe go through the troubleshooting but really it's very hard to feel for a guy with 70fps on shaders
On average people get 30-40 and most complaints are about 1-20fps or them not working at all.
The usual troubleshooting revolves around updating drivers, updating anything else you might be running (like optifine), playing with all the different video settings while keeping an eye on framerate via F3, and finally, the major cause of fps trouble, switchable graphics. Make sure you make in catalyst an application specific rule for minecraft to use high performance graphics or select specific video card.
