I have just downloaded minecraft onto our Mac OS X version 10.6.8. It downloaded ok but wouldnt start up. Comes up with a message "Cannot launch "MincecraftLaunder". No compatible version of Java 1.6+ is available.
I read a few posts suggesting that i delete all Java files and then re download. I deleted it all but apparently there is no Java download for this version of MAC. Kind of stuck now.
I am not an IT guru so please dumb down the answers a bit. Much appreciated.
I have a Mac OS X too and it works fine. Just try re-downloading it, don't delete the files.
What browser are you using? (Chrome,Explorer,Firefox, etc)
I used Chrome.

I'm Canadian, and there is no igloos around. Or snow. Or polar bears. Or moose because I live in a city, but there are moose in the country.
