So, I am a noob, even though I've been playing MC for a while now. Please be kind.



I can open the launcher but as soon as I click "Play" the launcher closes....and that's it. No MC for me.



I'm working off the guidelines of the "How To Ask For Help" thread, so please bear with me?



I have Windows 8.1 64 bit.

Java says I have the latest version - the one that came out this week maybe?

I think my mods, including Forge, are all 1.7.2, but I can't check right now because the folder my mods are in is "not responding".



Is it perhaps the Java update that is the issue, and if it is how do I go back to a previous version? I couldn't understand how to do it from the Java site itself. Noobish noob is noobish here.

Put this in your mod folder:
http://files.minecraftforge.net/LegacyJavaFixer/legacyjavafixer-1.0.jar

I just move it in and that's it? I don't need to run it or anything?

No. It just fixes old forge version compatibility with new java versions. It'll load like any other mod.
