First off, here are the things you probably need to know
Java: 64 bit 1.6.0
Mac OS X: 10.6.8
2010 macbook
Ever since 1.7 came out every time I try to open up fullscreen mode I just got a completely black screen. It was easily fixable by tapping the power button. However, in 1.8 I thought it was fixed but it was even worse!:( Now instead of a black screen it shows a black screen with a green strip on the bottom half of the screen. I can barely make out my resource pack in that green strip, so it's probably just the panorama in the background (my resource pack has a lot of green in it)
Before anyone asks, I have looked through for a crash report Countless times over, yet I have found nothing
I apologize for my lack of knowledge towards macs, I've never had one personally. One suggestion you may try is deleting config and mod folders where your minecraft files are located.
If I recall correctly, there were issues with mac and fullscreen (in....snow leopard..or lion maybe) that were addressed in one of the osX updates but I forget which one. I'm on yosemite so it's hard to figure out at which point this was.
Can you run in windowed mode ok?
Change -Xmx1G to -Xmx2G to give your Minecraft more memory.
Thanks, I'll try that

Can you run in windowed mode ok? The moment it goes to the title screen it changes to a black full screen, sooo... no
I'm using snow leopard by the way so... that might be it
EDIT: I got some screenshots, I'll attach them to this.
The first one is just after the logo screen
The second one is after smashing my face on the keyboard. (I'm not joking.)
Lol. Yeah in lion I think they started adding native full screen support for all apps. Except minecraft for some reason. Then someone came up with a fix for that: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1285051-1-6-4-os-x-minecraft-mountain-lion-full-screen
Then later on this was added into the OS so now when I press the button to maximize (green button), it actually switches to full screen right away (on yosemite). But back when I had to keep trying to force it with Fn+F11, it was always a toss up on when it would work and when it would just freak out.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
I couldn't find a crash report
I just tried a few seconds ago without a resource pack, It ended up with a completely black screen, and no matter where I clicked it closed minecraft
Tried the mod and config files, it didn't work. Thanks anyway
actually what part of the jvm arguments should I change?
-Xmx1G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn128M
