I have had problems with thermal expansion, but thanks to the mc community I was able to fix it. However, I added more mods to the game and now it is crashing again.

Looks like an extra utilities derp like the error said. You've got the right version. Have you tried asking the author?
Alternatively you can go in with mcedit, and remove the offending transfer node?
